Finally got around to editing these photos. Some are from our trip to San Francisco, and some are from Joshua Tree/Palm Springs. My camera got stuck on a weird setting and all the pictures came out under exposed and grainy. Still, I found some good ones! We did the audio tour of Alcatraz (accidentally called it Azkaban like a billion times). This was my favorite thing we did in San Francisco. We went to Chinatown and took random pictures including me playing some sort of stringed instrument with two street performers (they asked me to join them and handed me that little guitar).
Here we are in Joshua Tree. We came to help model for our friends who were putting on a workshop there. The last shoot was extra fun because we got to dress up in wedding attire. My dress was awesome and the cactuses loved getting stuck in it. We broke off from the group and took some dope flash photos of each other looking cool. Later that night we all gathered around the train of the dress and picked out a thousand thorns and sticks.
The last two days of this trip we spent at the Ace in Palm Springs. This part was most anticipated, but I also felt really sick, so I was a little mad at my body. Body, why now?
The first night Sara, Phil, Joe, and I played in the pool like kids. I don't remember the last time I "played" like that.
The best thing we did in San Francisco was going on the tour of Azkaban....I mean Alcatraz. I kept calling it Azkaban, though.
The next best thing was getting to hang out with my brother and sister-in-law and enjoy the best pad see ew ever three nights in a row :)
We just got back from a trip to Seattle where we were able to shoot with some Seattle models (my husband and I are fashion photographers 💁🏻). We also ate a lot of food which I will now tell you about.
Portland definitely has better food options than Seattle (but that's just my opinion - my opinion is usually right). With that being said, here are some places we went/liked.
I'm sure you've already heard of Oddfellows. We've been before, and we went again this time because we were in the neighborhood. I've never been too crazy about its breakfast (like coffee and eggs/toast), but right before we left, we met a friend there for brunch/lunch. I got a Bloody Mary, and it was sooooo good. I was thinking about it all the way home (and I'm still wishing I could have more).
Another place we liked was General Porpoise for donuts. I got the chocolate/marshmellow one, and I have to say that I would definitely go back the next time I'm in Seattle.
We went to a cool coffee place with some other friends called Vif. This is another place I'd be happy to visit again. It had really good food, too. Another coffee shop we visited was Union Coffee. It was good, but too instagrammable if you get my drift. Sometimes coffee shops try too hard.
We really like burgers, so one of the models recommended 8 oz. Definitely go there if you like burgers! We almost went twice while we were there.
Hello. It's Tuesday. I'm cheating a little bit.
Joe and I did take photos this week, but I thought they didn't do the outfit justice. Also I was grumpy and it was too chilly out for what I wanted to wear and all the other excuses!
okay...side note...just saw this really eccentric woman walk by the window of Dapper & Wise where I am. She had round glasses, frizzy hair, was dressed in all kinds of patterns, and was walking with a very crooked and curvy wooden staff. I know what your thinking (God knows I know what I'm thinking)...Professor Trelawney meets Gandalf...
I just wrote so many ellipses. Once I was emailing with a guy about a stylist job, and he used so many unnecessary ellipses in his emails. So one of the emails, I wrote back, "you sure do love using ellipses." And he completely ignored that comment.
...
Back to the "cheating." I have some lovely outfits for you from when we were in Mexico to enjoy. I was recently looking back over these photos and some of them made me tear up! Especially the ones with Joe.

Mexico was one of my favorite trips ever. Our friends and us decided that we wanted to take a trip in during the winter, and we each had to make a presentation to convince the others of our destination. Sara picked Hawaii, Joe and I merged and chose Peru, and Phil chose Mexico. After Phil's presentation literally left me in tears of excitement (true story), we all chose Mexico.
Luckily Phil and I each could speak a little Spanish because we actually needed it. We stay in an adorable Airbnb in Mexico City in the neighborhood Roma Norte (go). Every morning we were awoken by a man walking by and shouting a crescendoing cry (which we still call out to each other here at home). We had some amazing flautas and tacos from just across the street and learned out to order coffees with whole milk to go in Spanish. Un café moca con leche entero para llevar por favor (hopefully this is actually correct).
We took an uber 30 minutes south of the city to ride in those boats you saw in the first photos. Our uber driver started following a dude on a moped, and we got kinda scared. Turns out the guy was just leading the driver to his boat crew so he could get a cut of the money. We had to haggle the guy for a good price, and then we had to convince our boat gondolier that he was taking us back a half an hour early - all in Spanish. It was an adventure.
We then took a plane down to Mérida and then drove to the ocean. We saw ruins and old Spanish settlements. There were many adventures along the way, but I'm sick of typing now :)
